Dear studio friends, A lot has changed since last month, which seems very far away right now. Due to a new project with an extremely compressed timeline, the Broken Boxes are on pause for the moment, but I’m happy to see that the things I’ve been learning from them are carrying through into the new work. I miss them but I’ll go back to them soon. My sculpture “Third Unconformity” is continuing its travels. After spending last summer at the Chautauqua Institution in New York, the fall and winter at K. Grant Fine Art in Vergennes VT, it is settled in at Lemon Fair Sculpture Park in Shorham, VT. Each of these locations have been so different from each other and I truly love being able to see how the piece changes in each new environment. But the news—I'm trying to play it cool but I'm incredibly excited and a little stunned: I've been invited to a year-long residency at the Roswell Artist-in-Residence program! Starting January 1st, 2026, I'll be living and working in New Mexico. Being in a position to even apply to this residency has been a long-time dream, but to actually be invited feels absolutely surreal. This program is called "the gift of time"—one full year with no obligations, completely funded. I'm overwhelmed with gratitude for the trust and opportunity they've given me. I'm also deeply grateful to my friends and colleagues who shared their thoughts for my application and believed in me and my work. I can't wait to share this adventure with y’all.
